Jared Hara exemplifies the value of hope. He was fortunate enough to grow up in Central Florida on the lakes inner tubing, wake boarding and water skiing before taking his love of sports indoors to play ice hockey.
When he was twelve, Jared lost his eyesight to a rare disease called Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy. After losing his vision, he picked up his first guitar, which quickly became a newfound passion. Now a guitar virtuoso, composer and producer, Jared is living proof that tragedy can reveal hidden potential. “Sometimes in darkness, we find ourselves,” says Jared.
After being invited to play on stage with the band Shinedown at the Hurricane Relief Concert in Orlando in 2004, Jared knew then, at the age of 14, that the stage was where he wanted to be. Music provided him with the hope and strength to persevere with his life. Jared has had several bands in Orlando and Los Angeles over his short 10-year career. After becoming a finalist in Sam Ash’s Steve Vai Best in Shred in 2012, Jared decided to attend Musician’s Institute in LA to become the best he could be.
While at MI Jared formed the band Symmetry in early 2013. The band members’ similar mindsets quickly led to writing and recording their debut full-length album, Frozen in Time, produced by James Paul Wisner. Frozen in Time was praised overseas by the U.K. music and culture website, Louder Than War, who called the lead single, Frozen in Time, “fresh, powerful and absolutely radio-ready.”
For years Symmetry rocked the Roxy, Whiskey A Go Go, Viper Room and House of Blues along with many other clubs throughout Los Angeles. Symmetry’s album, along with their infectious chemistry, caught the attention of many during the winter of 2014 as they toured the U.K. and gained worldwide fans. The band’s performance at NACA’s (National Association of Campus Activities) West Coast Convention kicked off a domestic tour, and in 2015 Symmetry introduced a new album, The Cure, also produced by Wisner. The Magazine Rhythm and Booze said The Cure“ blends a big bold combination of rock and alternative pop, added some fizz, a little bit of bounce and then shake until frothing.”
In February 2015 Symmetry headed back to the U.K, Ireland and Scotland for four tours, including a 21-show arena Most Excellent Adventure Tour supporting the pop/rock super-group McBusted. Immediately following the arena tour, Symmetry headlined their own Up Close and Personal Tour in the U.K. before joining X-factor U.K. winner James Arthur on his The Story So Far Tour.
At the end of 2015, Symmetry toured Europe with Third Eye Blind and then embarked on to a U.K. tour with Don Broco and Coasts. Symmetry began the spring of 2016 with a new single and music video release, and toured the U.S. with the U.K. band, Coasts.
Jared’s talents extend beyond the stage and into the recording studio. As owner of Silver Sound Studios since 2012 Jared spends his time when not touring writing, composing, producing for himself and many other artist and bands.
Jared has recently returned to his hometown of Orlando, Florida and continues to pursue his musical journey. Jared’s focus is his studio work, writing and composing as well as playing gigs for his himself and other projects.
